Herbalism Gold Guide

Just like Mining, Herbalism is a no brainer on how you make gold. You gather items, you sell them or craft things and you profit. But how do you make the most out of your time spent is the important part.

Selling Herbs

Selling herbs seems easy, and it is. You list them on the AH or advertise in trade to sell them. But if you’re reading this, you probably want to know how to get more money out of your herbs.

Timing is the key. The best time to sell the herbs is before raids. People are rushing to get flasks, pots and elixirs made before raid. To Increase your sale rate of auctions, list before these critical times. Since there is less supply due to people purchasing what’s on there, the price of herbs generally goes up, making you more profit.

Another critical time to wait to list herbs is around the times new gear/specs come out. If there is a major change to where people will be changing their glyphs, there will be an increase in the price of herbs from all the Inscriptionists buying them.

Selling Consumables
If you sell them at the right time, you can more often than not make more money selling consumables than selling the herbs. For more information on this, look at the Alchemy Gold Guide.

Selling Glyphs
Same as with Consumables, You can more often than not make more money selling Glyphs and Cards than selling the herbs. For more information on this, look at the Inscription Gold Guide.

Where to find herbs
I have created maps for the “best” herb routes to increase your Herb per hour rate when you are farming. One thing to consider is that although Northrend is where the “new” herbs are, it may not necessarily make you the most gold per hour spent.

Since a lot of Pre-BC herbs are needed for Inscription, the prices have skyrocketed on most servers. They are however harder to get to and you cannot use a flying mount. The reason why I recommend this method of farming is that you can switch up what you farm each day/week. Don’t over stock the AH with too much of one kind. Vary it up so prices stay higher.

Another reason why I recommend it is because Northrend has a lot of farmers and players looking to gather what they need to level the last 75 levels of their profession. You may get in the wake of another person farming and spend a lot of time flying around with nothing to show. Most Pre-BC areas are empty and do not have a lot of people(if any) farming in those areas, so you will have little competition.

Now I am not saying these is no money to be made in Northrend! However if your server is overly populated on herb farmers, you may want to consider farming in Pre-BC areas.
