Glyphs
Inscription takes a lot of research to make gold from if you want to sell on the AH. I would recommend downloading my list or making one of your own of all the Inscriptions there are. I work on Inscription once a week. I open up my excel and put in the values of every inscription ( I have learned to delete some off my list since they never sell or sell for under a gold on my server). Each page has the list of what type of ink is needed (and highlighted if it needs two inks). I then look at herbs to find the cost of each ink.
The next step is I craft roughly 3-10 of each inscription that will sell for double the cost ( ie costs 5g sells for 10g). I started with only 2 of each inscriptions and if they sold out the previous week I made 3 the next and so on. I list them throughout the week and don’t make more until the week is over. If this is your only way to make gold you may like to do it more, but I just find it too much work in order to do this daily.
Scrolls
I don’t make scrolls unless it’s for the Northrend pigments since I have more of Ink of the Sky than I know what to do with.
Vellums
I try to have 10 of each vellum listed if the price permits. They sell quickly and in larger stacks since someone who is leveling enchanting doesn’t want to lose the enchant.
Cards
I make the new Darkmoon Fair cards as much as possible. Depending on the prices on your server, you can make several 100g a card.
Undeath cards seem to sell for the cheapest (around 100g)
Prisms and chaos sell decently (200-500g a card)
Nobles sell for 1k+ right now.
You may craft 1-2 Undeath’s and “lose” 50g, but when you craft a Nobles you make 800g.
The biggest thing is getting the Snowfall Ink. You have to mill a lot to get enough to get a card. The trick is to mill Adder’s Tongue and Icethorn since they have a better proc rate of the specialty pigment than the lower Northrend herbs do. I get roughly 1 ink per stack of herbs.
6 stacks of herbs + 3 eternal life and the parchment = 1 card
You will get a lot of Ink of the Sea this way, which you can sell, make vellums, or make glyphs. I have made a decent amount of gold this way and can be done on a large or small scale.
*** The Next patch Will make 1 Ink of the Sea turn into any other ink + multiples turned into snowfall ink so card prices will probably drop since they will be more easily obtainable***
