Inscription Leveling Guide 1-450

January 23rd, 2009 by admin

With the introduction of Jessica Sellers in 3.0.8, leveling Inscription can be a little cheaper at lower levels if your server has high prices on lower level herbs and has many cheap Ink of the Sea on the Auction House.

Below is a general guide on how to level it. The results on how much you spend (or even gain) leveling will depend on your server prices. The trick to reduce your net cost is to try and make a glyph /item that will sell for more or better. It is sometimes better to use 2 inks to sell an item at 15g than it is to use 1 ink to make an item that sells for 5g. Fewer mats don’t always mean less net cost.

I also try to use making inks over crafting something, since these usually sell for more than crafted items. For crafted items, I tend to choose Vellums as much as possible. If there is a glyph on your sever that you can make profit on feel free to substitute it for the recommended item. When it comes to when you craft glyphs I do not recommend 1 because it depends on your server prices. Look at the price of the glyphs on the AH and craft ones that sell for the highest profit but are still desirable.

In order to obtain pigments you will need to know what herbs to mill. Below is a list of everything you need to know about pigments. One thing to remember is milling the higher level herbs for that pigment will give you better results.

The column with mats is the amount of mats needed if you skill up every time. You will probably need more, but this is a good starting point on what to purchase.

Remember, if at any time 5 herbs cost for the level needed cost more than 1.25 Ink of the Sea on your server, it will most likely save you gold to purchase Ink of the Sea and trade it in to Jessica Sellers in Dalaran.
