Today’s gold making tip is a response to an email I received a couple days ago. Dave has twoquestions, so they will be answered over the next few days. His Second question is:

Enchanting…

– Do you buyout linen cloths, silk cloths, mageweave cloths, rune cloths, netherweave cloths, and frostweave cloths for disenchanting purposes? Or do you buy from top profit priority? In other words, do you no longer buy linen cloths and silk cloths to craft low level greens to disenchant since you make more profit from disenchanting netherweave and frostweave cloth-crafted greens? There is a blade merchant named Coreiel in Halaa that sells The Sharp Cookie for 2g 21s. They are limited quantity and are supposed to spawn every 20 min. I do not know how valid the time is, since I don’t check every 20 min. Read the rest of this entry »

Today’s tip of the day is for Enchanters.

Check out your AH. On my server (and also on www.wowecon.com) Voids have been going for the same price as one Large Prismatic Shard. Since Voids are shattered into two prismatics, you can double your money in a short time.

Look at small prismatic shards too; sometimes those will be going for ½ the Large Prismatic Shard prices.

Enchanting has a reputation of being one of the most expensive professions to level. But with the introduction of vellums in the game, you no longer have to lose mats from re-enchanting an item over and over again. However if you do not want to spend time selling lower level vellums (can sometimes take a while to sell) you can wait to use vellums until you get to level 300 enchants.

You can put enchants on a vellum to save to use on an alt or to sell on the AH. Because you can resell these items, I will concentrate on trying to give a variety of enchants to diversify the types of auctions you can list.

DE’ing Reinforced Cobalt Shoulders, Reinforced Cobalt Chestpiece, Reinforced Cobalt Helm, and Reinforced Cobalt Legplates is something I have been doing since the patch came out. You can craft these with only 4 cobalt ore which costs about $2-3g each (prices according to www.wowecon.com averages) and you de it into Infinite Dust, Greater Cosmic Essences, and Dream Shards.

The one downfall to this, is you have to be lucky. This recipe is a random world drop recipe so you cannot just go to a trainer and get it.

Enchanting has always been my biggest money maker. Anyone who says you can’t make a profit with it, doesn’t know anything about the profession.

The traditional way is to stay in a major city, put tells in trade channel, and list all your most popular enchants. You can make some decent money on tips but you have to sit in a major city watching tells for a bit of time. To be honest, I have never done this! I do however watch trade chat while passing a city and if I see someone who is looking for an enchant that I have offering 10g a tip, and then sure I don’t mind making some quick gold.
