Its not a large profit margin, but a small gimmick that you can queue your self to process while you open up your mailbox.

If you have this enchant, on my server you can purchase the mats on the ah, place it on a scroll and profit about 100g. Since scrolls have no listing fee, you can relist it and not loose money.

I find these sell better on weekends. It is also a good idea to list them in sets of 2 or more. (They sell in sets quite frequently)

Some tips to consider:

DE’ing Netherweave belts can get you a lot of the mats you need for these enchants
You can turn Void crystals into prismatic shards.
You can turn nexus crystals into small prismatic shards.
Look for lesser and greater planar essences, there might be a price difference.

Yes you can sit in Org/SW and wait to sell it to someone looking for it. But I find it easier to list it on the AH and wait for someone looking for it to come to me.

Today’s gold making tip is a response to an email I received a couple days ago. Dave has twoquestions, so they will be answered over the next few days. His Second question is:

Enchanting…

– Do you buyout linen cloths, silk cloths, mageweave cloths, rune cloths, netherweave cloths, and frostweave cloths for disenchanting purposes? Or do you buy from top profit priority? In other words, do you no longer buy linen cloths and silk cloths to craft low level greens to disenchant since you make more profit from disenchanting netherweave and frostweave cloth-crafted greens? Or do you still buyout every cloth except wool to make these items to disenchant? And the same questions applies to the different leathers.

I usually buy a good variety of cloth. I still buy linen cloth, but let it pile up till a day I am bored. With linen cloth on my server going for 5-6g a stack, its not that bad of a price. I only craft the robes about once a month or so. The biggest thing I do to make gold (with cloth) is Netherweave Bags. I still craft about 100 a week and sell them for 10g each (making roughly 6g a piece) I will just set my character up to queue up bolts or bags and go do something else. It is a very easy way to make gold if you do not have alot of time.

I do not currently buy frostweave for de’ing yet. My server is still too high in price.

For all cloth, leather , ore, primal’s, gems I use to craft items to de and resell. I find out the craft /de value. From there I try t o buy the mats at 50% of the value. I Add these items to a snatch list in auctioneer so it alerts me when they are listed for the price I like. This saves a lot of time and combines your normal daily scan with also looking for these items. I usually let the mats pile up until there is a good amount to craft. Enchanting mats list on the AH for free, so it doesn’t matter as much if you have a large amount at one time.

Its rather annoying to click/press the action then click the item you want to use it on. For example milling Adder’s Tongue 100′s of times because your crafting Darkmoon Faire cards for profit.

Well here is a macro that can help easy the pain of mindless doing the same thing over and over again

For prospecing you would change the word milling and so on. You would also change the herb names to ones that you mill, prospect or disenchant.

This has saved me the time of clicking on the stack of herbs/item to de. It may seem like only a little bit of time, but it adds up. Also you can mindless press 1 button while you watch tv, which is pretty nice.

But why are they important? They DE on my server to 10-20g worth of mats each time. They become soulbound so you need to pick them up with your enchanter. This is a great way to make gold with a level 70 character you haven’t started to play yet that has enchanting.

There is also a blade that sells for 8g that regularly de’s into 1-2 greater planar essence. This may be worth your time to DE as well if your server prices are high.

I’m planning to level a second character on the other faction of my server, using a death knight as a banking alt.

And I was thinking, since that death knight can be leveled to 60 without blinking, and Grand Master <Profession> requires lvl 60, I could perhaps use it as a profession mule too.

What would you recommend as the best four-profession combo ? The main I would be leveling from 1-80 would be a rogue.

This is a very good question. First I will cover the Death Knight aspect. If you have a DK “bank alt” that you can get to level 60 that you do not plan on playing, there is one way you can make fairly good amount of gold. I would recommend Tailoring + enchanting. You are probably thinking WTFBBQ are you talking about?!?! There are 6 main reasons why I say this.

1. Tailoring and Enchanting go very well together. You can level Tailoring at no net loss if you sell the DE mats, or use those mats to level your enchanting.

2. There are also many ways to make gold off crafting tailoring items and DE’ing them for profit. (I DE Brown Linen Robes, Azure Silk Cloaks, White Bandit Masks, and Low level Netherweave items for a 50% profit margin)

3. Tailors can make gold crafting Netherweave Bags, I sell about 100 a week. This also gives you a cheap source to obtain bags for other alts/banks etc. (I will have a article on the numbers of this tomorrow)

4. You can Purchase items off the AH and DE them for profit if you don’t want to craft things.

5. You can take the cloth that you receive from leveling and turn it into something more valuable (enchant mats) and that have no listing fees.

6. You can DE all the greens you get and sell the enchant mats, again enchant mats have no listing fees while greens do.

However if you do not want tailoring as a profession on your alt, you can try inscription. This is a nice way to make gold (through Northrend Darkmoon Faire Cards, crafting glyphs etc).

For leveling, I always recommend Skinning + (Mining or Herbalism). I know some people say to do Mining and Herbalism, but I find it rather annoying to use macros to switch tracking etc. Skinning is easy money that you can get just for killing the mobs you need to xp and you don’t need to go out of your way.

If you want to be a leatherworker at 80, save the leather you skin. This will allow you to not have any upfront costs of leveling the profession. You can do this by having a bank alt with a bunch of bags, or use the mail system to send mails to your alt that you never open. (if in 30 days you haven’t cleared it out, it will be sent back to your main, but make sure you do something with it then or it will disappear when the mail expires)

Choosing between Herbalism and Mining depends on what you want to do when your 80 .

Do you want to be an Alchemist or Inscriptionists? Choose Herbalism. Herbalism also works great if you choose Inscription on your DK and Alchemy later on your main.

Do you want to be a Jewelcrafter, Engineer or Blacksmith? Choose Mining. However, do NOT smelt the ore, I repeat do NOT smelt it!!! Even if you’re going to choose Engineer or Blacksmith. Lower level ore sells for more than bars since it can be used for more professions (all three + someone leveling mining with smelting). Bigger market to sell too also means a quicker sale. If you choose to go Mining or Engineering, I recommend dropping skinning first to pick it up so you have your smelting ability still available to help speed up the process of leveling.

If you want to pick professions based on money making abilities I would choose Jewelcrafting and Leatherworking (assuming you already have tailoring and enchanting). There are several Leatherworking items you can DE, along with selling armor kits. Jewelcrafting is also a goldmine as well. However, with the increasing numbers of Jewelcrafters, you would need to be smart with the market. Save gems for big rush times (ie new seasons, new instances that provide lots of new gear)

The mats are relatively cheap, you can pick up the mats for around 240 gold and make about 100g profit from just a few min of work.

Check out your AH. On my server (and also on www.wowecon.com) Voids have been going for the same price as one Large Prismatic Shard. Since Voids are shattered into two prismatics, you can double your money in a short time.

Look at small prismatic shards too; sometimes those will be going for ˝ the Large Prismatic Shard prices.

You can put enchants on a vellum to save to use on an alt or to sell on the AH. Because you can resell these items, I will concentrate on trying to give a variety of enchants to diversify the types of auctions you can list.

Below is a general guide on how to level it. The results on how much you spend leveling will depend on your server prices.

In order to get the mats to level, I strongly recommend obtaining them by DE’ing items yourself (instead of purchasing the items on the AH). If you check out my Enchanting Gold Making guide, you can download an excel sheet to help you determine you DE values of different level range uncommon items.  From there you can purchase uncommon items (or even craft items) for less than the DE value to save gold on leveling.

If you do not want to go through the work of the excel sheet you can download Enchantrix which works with auctioneer. This would tell you the estimated DE value of items to help you decide to buy the item or not for DE.

Another option to get items to DE is to craft items for DE purposes. If you have access to a Tailor or Leatherworker, there are many items you can craft to DE for profit (or in this case get mats for cheaper than the AH value.)

The column with mats is the amount of mats needed if you skill up each time. You will probably need more, but this is a good starting point on what to purchase.
