Believe it or not, you can still make some gold off the Darkmoon Faire Card: Greatness.

While grinding out the Insane title Feat of Strength for a second time, I was pleased to see that you can turn in the cards for rep and still be able to sell the card (instead of DE’ing)

I was able to purchase and craft the decks during non faire times for around 3k and over the last 2 months I sold 8 decks for 4k+ each.

The other decks (besides the Illusion card) have also been profitable for me to purchase a deck and turn it into the actual trinket.

Check your servers prices and you may be able to tap into this quick easy way to make gold.

short guide how to make gold off the Love is in the Air event

Love is in the Air gold making has been “nerfed” slightly. Last year you were able to mail the pledges, which halted the timer count down of despawn. This allowed the selling of peddlefoot to people (even after the event is over)

This year there are two things I know of right now that you can make gold from. One is the candy bags that give you a hard candy every cool down. I was able to sell these for 1g a piece last year. Also they have no listing fee, so no loss if they don’t sell.

Another thing that sold well was the Lovely Black Dress. Since this year it seems like it has an increased drop rate (because its needed for the achievement) it wont sell for the 100-200g it once did. If you don’t like the price of it. Hold on to it. It should jump in price once people destroy them and the season has been over for a while.

One last way you can make gold, is selling pledges/items needed to combine into one and other non soul bound items like love rockets. The only problem is you cannot mail them and you would have to sell them on the character you receive them on.

I am using all my bank alts and alts to do this on the hour. It helps with being able to get more bracelets which you can trade mending broken hearts with a guildy or get more items you can sell later on.

If your looking for an acheivement guide, there is a pretty good one posted on the World of Warcraft forums here.

Tips on how to make gold at the Darkmoon Faire

You can make a lot of gold from the faire vendors even after they have been nerfed the respawn rates. I make around 10k profit from previous fairs (spend around 1500g) and with the price of herbs up more than ever and the introduction of Northrend items for sale at the vendors, I plan to make more the next fair. I purchase everything from Fel Lotus for 3g each, motes for 16 s each, and scrolls for a couple silver.

The vendors Professor Thaddeus Paleo and Lhara have random spawn limited quantity items for sale during the fair. It is easiest to “farm” the faire when it is in your factions’ town since opposing factions cannot visit as easily. Shat also will be easier now since Shat isn’t the hot spot for high levels to hang out.

I park a level 1 alt at the fair in TB (I play horde) and he has decent size bags and around 1k gold and just set his hearth to TB. I buy what I see spawn, hearth to mail out to another alt to store in mail, or list on the auction house, and run back.

I know this sounds boring, but I usually do it while watching TV, where you just click 1-2 times an hour and buy out what you want. There is a lot less competition now (compared to 6 months+ ago) since they reduced the spawn rates were reduced.

Don’t want to sit there all day? Just have your alt sit there and make it a habit to log on him before you log on your main each day of the fair a couple times. You can get a couple hundred gold for only 2-5 g with only a little bit of work.

With the price of herbs skyrocketing, Mageroyal can fetch up to 50s a piece. You can buy it at the fair for less than 1 s. along with many other herbs/leather/motes/scrolls.

Some tips:
Don’t buy the Outland rare gems, they cost 12g now and for most servers they are worth a lot less on the AH cut or uncut.

Scrolls still sell, to save bag space I only buy scrolls level III + and limit how many intellect and spirit ones I buy. Inscriptionists can now make them so the price has dropped a little on them and may not be worth the time for most players. However the level V goes for 1gish each and the protection ones cannot be made by Inscriptionists and sell for a decent amount of gold.

I buy herbs and turn them into glyphs. However you server may differ and the raw materials may be worth more (and actually take less time to sell)

Also visit the child running around Flik! He sells a limited supply pet called Wood Tree Frog. I pay 1g for it and sell it for 200g+. There are also other frogs to buy for 1g that sell for 10g each. I don’t list these till the faire is out of town and spam trade they are listed.

He also sells Heavy leather balls. I usually buy some and list them for 10s each (only cost a copper each) and list them singly. I list them like that since there is no listing fee. I tend to not do this anymore since there is so many other ways to make more gold and in less time, but it is an option if you don’t have a lot of gold and are low level.

Quick tip to make gold at the Lunar Festival

I have been looking for ways to make gold off the lunar festival (most holidays are easier to profit off of). I finally found one! If you go to the Lunar Festival vendor in Moonglade (Valadar Starsong) he sells Elune’s Candle for 10 silver. These are unique so you can only hold one at a time sadly.

I purchased it. and hearthed to mail it to my bank alt (there is no Mailbox in Moonglade). I listed it for 5 g bid and 10g buy out and sold it in less than 10 hours. This may be a fluke but I am going to stock up on these to sell especially after the festival is over. They are fun little toy that shoots a firework at your target. This trick only uses minimal investment and in the worst case, I have a lot of these toys to play with through out the year.

Some tips, Your bank alt can only hold one at a time as well. He can store them in his mail though. Another thing is they can be placed in a guild bank (an unlimited number).

Now I have never done this before, and the one that sold was my first time trying it out. The listing fee is very cheap (72 copper), and the investment is really small.

Another way to obtain these is to fly back and forth to Winterspring to mail them. This can take quite a bit of time, but if you want to purchase/stock up on a lot of them at once, it can be one method to try.

I also have used my druid with inscription, he can teleport to right by the vendors, and use a scroll of recall every 15 min. But this costs money (the scrolls) I just had many of them laying around from leveling Inscription.

Another option to make this easier is if you have an engineer with a mailbox they can drop. I guess this is one of the few times engineers can be profitable!
