Mining can be pretty lucrative since it is used for 3 professions. However you need to reach a high level in order to make some decent gold off the profession.

Like the other gathering professions, this isn’t my preferred method of making gold, but I know some people prefer to farm something then to sit at the AH. Most mining guides show you the route with the most ore. It’s nice it works, but what if someone else farming uses that same map. Where do you go now? I have made a map for each zone below to give you the option to choose where it’s most convenient for you to look for ore.

There are ideal places to farm, but they vary from server to server. My recommendation is to try a couple zones out and see what works best for you. Maybe you don’t have good gear and your a clothie so farming in Nagrand is easier for you since mobs don’t aggro as easily. Maybe you rather farm Northrend since you can use the ore there to craft other items to make money.
